THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS A...WHAT?!

•    take the party / wedding feast to the street (Tim Neufeld)
•    those set free have something to celebrate

AUTHENTIC

•    healing paralytic, calling a tax collector – positive response
•    contrast to ascetism of John’s disciples, Pharisees
•    bridegroom and friends usually relating freely, enjoying others’ company
•    are our spiritual practices genuine or ‘faking it’?

DYNAMIC

•    mixing shrunk and unshrunk cloth has disastrous results
•    early church moved beyond the letter of the law
•    be obedient when Lord calls to new things, not stuck in a rut

ORGANIC

•    fermentation of new wine would rupture hardened old skins
•    new skins have “give” / elasticity / stretch
•    Jesus’ readiness to mix with ‘sinners’ shocking to religious folk
•    how good are we at cooperating with other Christians; mentoring?
