•    does the coin care if it’s lost? Similarity to “happy pagan”
•    entertainment masks underlying despair, boredom, emptiness
•    God pursues the lost with significance, singularity, effort, earnestness

JOY FOR THE FRIENDS AND THE FINDER

•    dominant note joy when lost is found: celebrate, don’t condemn
•    parables portray God as personable not impassive: you matter to Him!
