WELCOME TO REAL LIFE...

•    a gem of a unique book
•    something inside us feels attraction

WHAT DO I WANT?

•    identifying what attracts us to another
•    like a mare distracting chariot horses (v9)
•    attracted to kisses even more than wine (v2)

WHAT DO I NEED?

•    impressed by his name / character: e.g. “in Jesus’ name”
•    do others see what we see? (Or, infatuation)
•    need someone of character, whom we can trust, who follows Jesus too

WHAT DOES GOD WANT?

•    caution against arousing love before the appropriate time (3:5)
•    what God wants: sanctified, avoid sexual immorality (1Thess 4:3-5,8)
•    God rates the “first say” not last resort
•    Solomon’s story: wisest person ever - yet disaster when made decisions himself
•    if Jesus is really “Lord” - He calls the shots, not our flesh
•    God wants to write a song in our relationships
