THE COMMAND

•    do this: love your neighbour
•    wake up!
•    put aside deeds of darkness, put on light-weapons
•    word of God our “sword of the Spirit”
•    behave decently: self-controlled; belonging affects behaviour

THE COMPROMISE

•    orgies, reveling
•    drunkenness; drugs
•    sexual immorality - disastrous fallout
•    debauchery: excess to get your “fix”
•    more “respectable” sins: dissension, quarreling
•    jealousy, envy - not loving our fellowman
•    “Builder” generation built on cheap labour - content with less

THE COMPULSION

•    why choose day over night?
•    Coming Judge: “day” of the Son of Man’s coming
•    Clothed in Christ: belonging to Christ = have Holy Spirit indwelling
•    put on the new self in righteousness and holiness: “modeling” Jesus

HONESTY THWARTS THE SABOTAGING INNER ADDICT

•    don’t even think about how to gratify flesh’s desires
•    What are you feeling / thinking / doing / thinking of doing?
•    don’t let inner addict premeditate plans for next disaster
