REMEDY FOR STUMBLING
• darkness can bring painful injury
• relationships suffer through ‘dark’ behaviour
ALLEGIANCE: WHO'S YOUR SPIRITUAL SOURCE?

• Jesus ‘light of the world’ - God’s presence,

• children of light hear / honour God; children of

• brought from Satan’s power/dominion/blinding into
God’s freedom/light (Ac 26:18, Col 1:13, 2Cor 4:4,6)
ATTITUDE DIFFERENT AS NIGHT AND DAY
• eyes determine degree of internal light (Lk 11:34)
• optimism, open to God’s possibilities - not cynical

• Christianity a religion of light, “Father of

ACTIONS THAT SHINE
• not condemning, vs. prejudice that judges by human
standards (8:11, 15, 41; 7:51)
• valid testimony, not blaspheme / bluster / belittle
/ bully (8:48, 9:9,17,22, 25, 28, 31ff)
• good deeds, purity, decent behaviour vs. depravity,
drunkenness, dissension (Mt 5:14ff; Php 2:14f; Rom 13:12f)
• love not hate one’s brother (1Jn 2:9ff)

• tragic death of other family members in Poland war
camps
• ministry sending cards to others in community
