Hunting for Help

 ○     cold shoulder from gas stations when needing antifreeze
 ○     are churches offering real help to those struggling?

Hankering but Left Hollow

 ○     soul-deficit when spend out for satisfaction from goods / relationships
 ○     will delight in ‘richest of fare’ if seek God instead (2f)

Bargain of God’s Blessing

 ○     free, paid by Son of Man (1; Mk 10:45)
 ○     everlasting covenant, faithful love, endowed with splendour (3,5; Heb 13:20; Jn 3:15; Php 3:20)
 ○     mercy, joy, peace, bountiful banquet (7,12; 1Jn 2:1f; Is 43:25; Php 4:4; Rom 8:28, 5:1f; Jn 10:29; Jer 31:14)

What’s Required to Receive

 ○     REPENT - come, listen (1-3)
 ○     Jesus invites to receive water / bread of eternal life (Jn 4:14, 6:35, 7:37f; Rev 22:17)
 ○     God chooses to be found by us when seek Him, forsake wickedness (Jer 29:13f; Is 55:7)
 ○     READ - God’s Word shapes our thoughts/ways like His (10f; Josh 1:8; Heb 4:12)
 ○     UPROOT & RIPEN - productive trees / good works replace weedy habits (13; Eph 2:10)

Jesus Floods Joy in the Worst Circumstances

 ○     death of pastor’s son brought him to realize joy comes from Jesus, not human affection
